which as you can see has seen some counter tops!!
It frustrated me… NO PHOTOS and LOTS AND LOTS of tiny text!!
But it grew on me… as I became a better cook I understood more and wasn’t having to work quite so hard to get through the chapters!!

I’m a VERY visual learner so I always wanted to see what I was striving to achieve in photo form!!
That is what I try to bring to you on this site!!
But as I said… I came to LOVE this book… not least because it became my weaning bible… in the back of the book Nigella shared her baby food recipes and how she cooked for her young children… I was in admiration of the Veal, Liver and Bacon mince pies she fed them … the Kalamata Olives… Sardines… and Duck… POND PIE she called it!!
Along with Mac and Cheese… Spag Bol and Jam Tarts!!
YES… I decided THIS was how I wanted MY kids to grow up… being introduced to the widest possible array of flavors, textures and combinations!!
I enjoyed doing it… making the foods and feeding my boys Liver and Apricot purée to the HORROR of many a Tiny Tots Play Group mother 😃👋👋👋
Nigella’s subsequent books became more visually appealing… with photos and more concise instructions!!
I turn to Nigella’s Forever Summer for inspiration quite a bit… since I live in the Sunshine State of Florida .. where cool Watermelon Salad with Feta Cheese goes down VERY WELL in August!!
