The Ultimate Soup Bible!!
Soup has ALWAYS been a huge part of my life… from early childhood when my very talented and culinary Nana Joyce (now 93) would make us Soups… the one I remember most clearly is chunky vegetable with Butter Beans… she made these for lunches on a weekend when we visited her (along with her OUTSTANDING Orange Cake, Chocolate Cake or Coffee Layer Cake)…
She’d always serve our Soups with Brown Bread and Butter… she owned a health food shop in the 60’s and 70’s… and thankfully knew the benefits of Whole Grains!!
So I highly recommend this book… and, BELIEVE me, I have MANY a Soup book…

It stands me in in good stead when I want to find something a little different for a dinner party… like JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE and SCALLOP Soup which is sublime!!
Or when my friend Helga asked for a Soup using her aquaponically grown Watercress which was absolutely delicious… I turned to this book for inspiration and found a PEAR and WATERCRESS recipe she STILL talks about!!!
I make A GREAT DEAL of soup and enjoy the whole process from the Stock to the final squeeze of Lemon!!
It’s a fantastic way to get hidden vegetables (if you have a problem with that) down your children, and it’s freezable so make a batch… portion it up in tubs and bring out on a day you haven’t got time to start from scratch…
Fancy Soup and Sandwiches… gotta love it!!
Here’s some frozen roasted Red Pepper in my freezer for just such an occasion!!
REMEMBER to label!!
I served Soup at a picnic recently with toasted Paninis and Tabouleh Salad!!
It went down like a treat!!
